Kyla's Hobby

play01
..so serious huh..LOL!

play02That's my girl!

Kyla was busy playing online games in her Uncle’s laptop and my PC. Hubby taught her to turn on the computer and shut down. She gets it easily. We are so proud of her because at her age she knows how to operate my computer, hubby’s computer and her Uncle’s laptop. Kyla wants to have her own laptop. Well, it depends upon hubby. LOL!

Exploring with Questions

The toddler's curiosity knows no limits.

Even if his body is quiet, his eyes and mind are busy. He is getting better and better at talking and listening. He is watching other people. He is exploring by asking questions-about everything he sees. If you are hearing "Why? Why? Why?" from your child, remember how young children learn.

Children ask questions in bits and pieces because they need time to make sense of the answers they get. They seem to know what they can manage, and they stop asking when they have had enough. Try to keep a balance, giving your child enough information but not too much.

Source: Dealing with Toddlers

Just like my daughter Kyla. What she saw in the outside she will ask what it is. Sometimes I am irritated but hubby told me to be patient and answer all her questions. Toddlers are like that because they are curious of everything. They want to know everything.

Lolo's Girl

kylalo2bobI have nothing to post here and so I decided to open the files of my daughter Kyla in my hubby’s PC. I saw this photo together with her Lolo Bob, hubby’s father. When she was a baby my father in law used to carry her and they will dance. She is “Lolo’s girl” but now FIL was not living with us. She missed her Lolo. Kyla always mention his name and ask us where FIL is. But sometimes FIL visits us here and at that time Kyla will come to him then hug him. I hope FIL will always visit
us.

Dress for Kyla

Our Church Anniversary is very soon coming for it is this coming December. My daughter and her Sunday school classmates have a presentation. I’m so excited for her performance. Last year she sang and memorizes a verse in the Bible like John 3:16. In fairness it is a long verse huh...

I saw this unique design of dress. I like it! I want my daughter to wear this dress during our Church Anniversary. I hope I can find such as this on shopping mall. I know it fits to her and she will looks like a little lady. LOL!

Laptop for Kyla

I have an old mini laptop from my Uncle. It’s still functioning but I need to look for a hard disk of it but it’s so hard to find in the surplus store for it is too old. Kyla use it and ask hubby why it’s all black. LOL! Kyla know how to turn on and off my PC and play online games. She is so smart for at the age of 3 she knows how to use the computer. Hubby plan to buy a Sony Vaio for her maybe this December or next year it depends upon his budget. I must be envy with my daughter huh..she is known as Papa’s girl. LOL! I hope hubby will buy one for me too.

..sO sad..

Kyla is getting well but her fever is on and off. Her pedia told us that it is normal for she has viral infection that will last up to 5-7 days. It’s quite long but I have no choice but to wait and pray that she will get well soon. My poor daughter is complaining why her fever is not gone since she is taking medicine. I told her that she will be fine as soon as possible. We will pray together and ask God that her fever will gone away and will never be back.

..busy these days that sometimes I forgot to do my online job. One of this is I need to write about Chicago accident attorney and let my readers know about it. I’ll be right back for more update of my child’s health. I hope that you will include my daughter into your prayers.

My Angel is Sick

It’s Friday and so we need to let Kyla visit her pedia because she has high fever since last Wednesday. We are afraid if she has dengue fever because victims of this disease are increasing its number. Kyla, mom and I went first to the laboratory clinic for blood test and urine test to know why she has a fever. I thank God for the result because it’s normal and so her pedia’s finding is she has viral infection which will disappear for 5-7 days. Well, I hope and pray that it will totally disappear so that we will not be worried.

Today, I'm..

..so tired and weak today because I have no enough sleep last night. My daughter is sick and so I need to watch over her. Kyla has high temper and so I’m afraid that she will have convulsion. This morning I will try to go to “manghihilot” so that I will know if she has “pilay”. If her fever is still high we will go to her pedia tomorrow for check-up. Please Lord heal my daughter. I know you are a powerful God and I know God will take care of my daughter. Please include my daughter to your prayers.

I’m off today to take care of my daughter together with my mom. But before that I will do my Seiko watches assignment first because it is needed to be done immediately.

..thinking of GIFTS

My daughter wants to receive a DORA doll that will sing. I saw one at TOY KINGDOM but it’s expensive. Well, I must think of it whether I will buy it for her or not. I know hubby will buy it for her. She is Papa’s girl.

I am planning to look for Guess watches in shopping malls because I will give it to my hubby as my wedding anniversary this coming December. I must start saving bucks now for I know it is pricey but durable and worth buying for. I hope I can buy it for him.

* I saw this toy in the internet. It's nice! I want to buy this toy house for my daughter Kyla this Christmas. But I am not sure if I can find this toy on the shopping malls or in the Toy Kingdom. I'm pretty sure she will like it! She likes to play "bahay-bahayan" in our house. *

She changed..

Kyla wake up so late this morning because she sleeps so late at night again. She wakes up at 10 in the morning. I asked her if she is hungry she nod her head which means “NO”. I let her watch TV first so that in a while she will ask for food. It took an hour before she asks for food. I’m worried of her appetite because it changes a lot. She eats so little as compared last month. I wonder why. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! I must force her to eat or else she will lose weight. I love her medium size because it fits to her. I know I have done my best to let her eat. I hope and pray that her appetite will be back in normal.

Who is Santa Claus?

Santa Claus
, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, or simply "Santa", is a historical, legendary and mythical figure who, in Western cultures, is described as bringing gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day[1], or on his feast day, December 6.[2] The legend may have its basis in hagiographical tales concerning the historical figure of Saint Nicholas.

The modern depiction of Santa Claus as a fat, jolly man (or elf) wearing a red coat and trousers with white cuffs and collar, and black leather belt and boots, became popular in the United States in the 19th century due to the significant influence of caricaturist and political cartoonist Thomas Nast.[3] This image has been maintained and reinforced through song, radio, television, and films. In the United Kingdom and Europe, his depiction is often identical to the American Santa, but he is commonly called Father Christmas.

* Honestly, I don't believe in Santa Claus. It's clearly a myth. It's not true! Only Jesus is coming in our world to save the lost. Please read this article for your understanding. *

How???

There are lots of ways you can ease the discomfort of teething.

  • Try rubbing the gums gently with your little finger.
  • Give your baby something to chew on - a teething ring will help soothe the gums, especially if cooled in the fridge beforehand. Don't be tempted to put it in the freezer because if it's too cold it could cause frostbite.
  • Carrot fingers or a chunk of apple can be just as effective, and the fibres they contain will help clean any teeth that have already appeared. Keep an eye on your baby while they're having a good old chew because small chunks could be a choking hazard. This is especially important if they already have some teeth as they could easily bite off little bits.
  • A sugar free teething gel such as Calgel will also help to reduce the pain. Containing a local anaesthetic, it can be applied directly to your baby's gum to numb the area and is suitable for use from 3 months plus.
  • If your baby still seems uncomfortable, a liquid pain reliever should help. Calpol Infant Suspension is specially formulated for infants from 2 months* plus and the sugar free variety is ideal for teething. Alternatively you could try Calprofen which is available in a sugar free variety and suitable for infants from 3 months* plus.

Of course, as well as these methods, a big cuddle can work wonders.

Source: Calpol

I found this tips on the internet. I remember when my daughter experience teething she cannot eat because of the pain. She had a fever at 37 degrees celcius. I let her took a medicine. I gave her a paracetamol. I'm so worried because she had no appetite at that time.

by: jil0504 at 22:31 | link | comments

I'm wondering why???

He's probably just getting the hang of feeding. And he's not alone: About 40 percent of young babies spit up regularly. The peak age for spitting up is 4 months.baby-spit-up-help
When your baby takes in air along with his breast milk or formula, the air gets trapped in with the liquid. The air has to come up, and when it does, so does some of the liquid.

Babies take in a lot of nourishment in relation to their size, and some of them really like to eat, so sometimes they become overfilled and, well, overflow.

A newborn's digestive system isn't fully developed, either. The muscles at the bottom of your baby's esophagus, which control whether food is coming or going, may still be getting up to speed. It's no wonder your baby creates so much laundry.

Source: Baby Center

It happens to all babies because they are full and so they spit up. I experience that when my daughter is a month old up to 3 months old I guess. Its better that they spit up because if not they will be vomiting. Yeah! It creates so much laundry because if you will still let them wear their clothes they will be bitten by ants.

Our Angel..

kyla02

Kyla wants to be a nurse or doctor. Hmmm..I like it! I hope and pray that she will pursue that kind of profession in the near future. She said she want to heal the sick people. Kyla is so caring. We are so proud of her because at her age she is compassionate to other people. I hope and pray that she will not change. She will continue her good attitude until she grows up.

5 Amazing Things..

If you are having a hard time getting motivated to eat right and exercise, take note of how a toddler goes about their day.

  1. They are in motion all day long.
My son is in constant motion from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to sleep. He is a calorie burning machine that runs, jumps, hops, and skips everywhere he goes. He crawls around on the floor and does somersaults for no apparent reason. Take a lesson from your kids---the more you move, the more energy you have, and the more fit you will become.
  2. They stop eating when they are full.
Kids can resist that last bite of food because they don't feel the need to clean their plate. They can have one bite of a cookie and walk away. When was the last time you turned away the last bite of food, despite the fact that you were already full? Try it out today, you will probably find you need less food than you realize.
  3. They love to see themselves naked.
They are so proud of their bodies and embrace every single imperfection, scratch, and bruise. If you find yourself constantly criticizing your body, take a moment to thank it for all it does for you. Without our bodies, we would have a tough time getting round!
  4. They are very flexible!
Children are like pretzels, they can bend, twist, and reach in every direction. Why? Because they practice it everyday (see #1). As adults, we lose our flexibility because we do not stretch our muscles enough. Take a few minutes out of each day to do some much needed stretching or yoga.
  5. They get their sleep.
Children stay on top of their game by napping during the day and going to bed early at night.Their batteries are fresh and charged each morning. When was the last time you can say that about yourself? Turn off the TV, computer, and phone and get yourself a solids night sleep.
Sources: dietblog

If you have toddler at home you will learn from them. Kyla is so “makulit” and she did all these things almost everyday. But she thinks maturely for she talks like a grown up kid. Why? Well, maybe because of what she saw on TV or heard from us. She really stop eating when she is full and so you cannot force her. She is fully charged in the morning but she takes a nap every afternoon. Then in the evening she will sleep because she is tired for this morning.

by: jil0504 at 13:08 | link | comments

Why???

This is a normal part of development for your child. He may begin to play around other children, but it will be 'parallel play.' Children at this age are very self-centered and may play alongside each other, but it will be some time before they actually start playing together. Your child will probably not want to share his things and he may be very possessive, even getting to the point of getting angry and hitting if another child touches his things.

It is important to closely supervise children that are playing together at this age and reassure them that the other child will not keep his toys. Let him know that it is okay if the other child touches or looks at his things and that he will return them. Keep a few of his favorite items separate and not available for sharing so that he feels he has some control over things.

If this behavior problem does not improve as your child becomes more mature, then more treatment may be required to fix the problem.

Source: Keep Kids Healthy

“Kyla has surpassed this kind of behavior because now she shares thing to her friends. She let them borrow and play with her in our lawn. Not like when she is 1 year old, she is selfish for she don’t want other children to play with her toys. She gets envy when her loved ones entertain those children. I thanked God for she is now mature and willing to share what she has. She is a loving and generous child now. I’m proud of her.”

Kyla's FRIENDS

3friends

Kyla is very friendly. She has many friends though she is the smaller and younger ones among them. Last June hubby took some photos of her friends. Gutin and Jboy had fun posing and smiling on our digi cam. Then Jboy ask me to get some copies of it because he will post it in his friendster. LOL! Kyla does not choose who she wants to be her friend as long as she enjoy playing with them. But now we are living in my hubby’s house she missed her friends in my mom’s house because we often go there. Gutin and Jboy always asked me where Kyla is. I just tell them that they will come to our house because it’s a mile away from their house. Actually they can walk going here. My poor daughter misses her friends.

What to do..

Apart from the clothes that you normally take, it is helpful to take some things for the car trip. Here are some suggestions.

  • Paper towels or wipes can have lots of uses.
  • Take empty plastic bags for rubbish, dirty clothes and dirty nappies.
  • Take a change of clothes for each child, something warm to put on, and sun hats (unless it is winter).
  • It's a good idea to take an old icecream container or plastic bowl for accidents of any kind . It can do for a potty if a child has not been toilet trained for long, and there is nowhere to stop in an emergency.
  • If you have a child who wets the bed, take a piece of plastic to protect mattresses.
  • Take a bag of things to do on the trip (see Car travel below)
  • Take some food, such as fruit, for when children need a snack on the way, and water to drink - avoid too many soft drinks. Small plastic water bottles with pop-tops can be very good.
Source: RaisingChildren.net

“It is a great feeling to travel with your toddler for an unusual experience. But when traveling together with your toddler you are advice to bring some paper towels, clothes, mattresses and many more. It’s not easy because there are many things to consider like feeding your toddler along the road. Usually, they will sleep in the car and let it be until you reach your destination.”

Kyla is not a TIMID kid..

My sis in law has visitors and Kyla likes to entertain them. She talks a lot and mingles with them. The visitors like her too because she is smart and talkative. I bet she will sleep late again tonight unless I will force her to stay in our room for her to sleep. Where did she inherit it? I’m not so affable like her and not obviously to her father because hubby is a shy person. It’s good that she never ashamed to face other people because she can use it in the near future. LOL!

Hong Kong finds melamine in baby cereal, crackers

HONG KONG – The Hong Kong government said Friday it has found traces of the industrial chemical melamine in Chinese-made crackers and Heinz baby cereal.

The chemical was found in Heinz DHA+AA Vegetable Formula Cereal and in Silang House-brand steamed potato wasabi crackers produced by Kam Tai Co., the Center for Food Safety said.

Both were manufactured in mainland China, it said in a statement.

The center said it has asked importers to recall the two products and urged retailers to stop selling them.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Heinz ordered a recall of the baby cereal as a precautionary measure following the Hong Kong government's announcement, it said in a statement on its Web site.

It said all other Heinz products were found to be melamine-free after extensive testing.

The contaminated product is less than 1 percent of the company's baby food sales in Hong Kong and contains only trace amounts of melamine, Heinz said.

A man who answered the phone at Kam Tai in Hong Kong declined to comment.

China's food safety crisis started with melamine-tainted infant formula, but has spread to dairy and other food products. Most recently, tests in Hong Kong and Singapore confirmed a famous Chinese candy brand was tainted.

Melamine-laced milk has been blamed for the death of four babies and for sickening more than 50,000 children in mainland China. Six children in Hong Kong and Macau have been found with kidney stones after drinking tainted Chinese milk.

Read more here..

To all mothers out there better read this info for the safety of your child’s health. I’ll  be right back for more update about this because I need to google about weight loss supplement because my friend requested it. See you later guys!

Jaundice in Healthy Newborns

A common condition in newborns, jaundice refers to the yellow color of the skin and whites of the eyes caused by excess bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is produced by the normal breakdown of red blood cells.

Normally, bilirubin passes through the liver and is excreted as bile through the intestines. Jaundice occurs when bilirubin builds up faster than a newborn's liver can break it down and pass it from the body. Reasons for this include:

  • Newborns make more bilirubin than adults do since they have more turnover of red blood cells.
  • A newborn baby's still-developing liver may not yet be able to remove adequate bilirubin from the blood.
  • Too large an amount of bilirubin is reabsorbed from the intestines before the baby gets rid of it in the stool.

High levels of bilirubin — usually above 25 mg — can cause deafness, cerebral palsy, or other forms of brain damage in some babies. In less common cases, jaundice may indicate the presence of another condition, such as an infection or a thyroid problem. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that all infants should be examined for jaundice within a few days of birth.

Read more here..

This is what happens to the newborn baby of Sis Judith. Baby Naomi Grace has jaundice which alarms them. They stayed at the hospital for 2 weeks. Thank God they are fine though the baby is in pain because the antibiotics are injected to her. Poor baby suffers like this. I pray that God will heal her.

I’m off for a couple of hours because I need to search about auto insurance for my cousin.

Tips on FINDING A BABY SITTER

Your first challenge is recruiting a potential babysitter. Here are some ideas:

• Start looking for a sitter early. If you wait until the last minute, you may not be as discriminating in your choice.
• Ask family, friends, neighbors or coworkers if they know of any good baby sitters.
• Advertise for a baby sitter in your local church, civic organizations, high school, or newspaper.
• Find certified baby sitters in classes conducted by your local Red Cross or YMCA
• Check your phonebook or internet for baby sitting services . Here are some things to keep in mind:
° Services with an insurance bond will cover certain damages or losses to your property; however, most are not likely to protect your children in any way.
° Check to see if the sitting service conducts criminal history checks and screens its employees.

“I am looking for a baby sitter this time to look for Kyla. I am so busy and so I have time to take care of her. I’m so tired everyday because I do all the household task here while blogging. And because of tiredness my asthma and sinusitis attacks that I can bear anymore. Whew! I really need a baby sitter or a house maid because I can’t manage it.”

See you DCP!

Hubby is planning to bring Kyla and me to the Davao Crocodile Park this weekend or next week. He will treat us because he was paid by his big project. Kyla and I were excited because it is our first time to go there. I will surely take some photos of all the animals there. I’ll post it here for sure.

Brushing Teeth

Baby teeth need the same care and attention you'd give to permanent teeth. Here are some tips to help your child become a regular brusher:

  • As soon as that first tooth has come in, begin cleaning it with a washcloth and plain water.

  • When your child has about eight teeth, begin using a soft-bristled toothbrush, specially designed for children. Let him choose his own brush from several acceptable designs.

  • Until he is able to spit, use only non-fluoride toothpaste. Swallowing excessive amounts of toothpaste can lead to discoloration of teeth.

  • When he is able to spit, switch to a fluoridated toothpaste, but use only a pea-sized amount.

  • Make toothbrushing a family event. Your child will be more inclined to want to brush if others share the activity with him.

  • Read dental care books or use these coloring sheets to reinforce the importance of toothbrushing.

Remember that starting good dental health habits now will pay off with a healthy smile later.

Source: Baby Parenting

To all moms who have a baby, this is the best tips on starting brushing the teeth of your baby. You must start cleaning their teeth when the first tooth has come so that she will be used of it. I start brushing the teeth of my daughter when she is 1 year because her tooth comes in so late. Her tooth comes in when she was 9 months old already. Now, she love brushing her teeth everyday.

My New Comforter

This day I bought a comforter for us to sleep comfortably because hubby always use the air conditioner at night and even in the day when it is hot outside. Kyla was so excited to sleep on our bed and she appreciates it. At her age 3 she knows how to appreciate the new things she saw. I and hubby were so excited to sleep too. LOL! It’s a great feeling to buy the things needed at home. I am planning to buy another set by next month or on December. Kyla is sleeping now. LOL! I’ll post photo later here..

My Baby Kyla..

Picture(83)Kyla is only 3 months old here. I miss her as a baby. She can  now walk and talk very well. Years are really so fast to pass by. I miss her littleness. But I’m not ready to have another baby because Kyla is only 3 years old and my OB advices me to get pregnant after 5 years. I’ll wait for the right time to have safe pregnancy. I enjoy being a mom to my daughter Kyla.

Are you Sleepy?

Getting babies to sleep can sometimes seem like a Herculean undertaking. One crucial part of the equation is knowing when your own baby is getting tired, then taking advantage of that moment to put the baby down to sleep. Yawning is, of course, one indication. But there are many others that might not be as obvious. Some babies rub their eyes, pull their ears or twirl their hair around their fingers. One expert reported hearing from a mother whose baby would simply stare off into space. Initially, the mother thought the baby was bored and would try to entertain her. It turned out the baby was simply tired. Recognizing each baby’s unique way of indicating that they need sleep is a big step towards helping them get the rest they need.

Source: Keep Kids Healthy

I remember when Kyla will yawn. It simply means that is sleepy that time. Sometimes she gets irritated easily because she wants to sleep. But she is naughty because she will play so that she can’t sleep. After a couple of minutes she will lie down to the bed and sleep. Gee! She is really a smart kid because she makes a way to be not of sleep early.  She is doing it until now at age 3.
